Sciatica is a condition that causes pain in the low back, down the back of the leg, and into the foot. You can have difficulty in sitting for long periods of time due to pain, tingling and numbness in the leg and foot. When the vertebrae in the low back are compressed, the roots of the sciatic nerve become pinched (“pinch nerve”) and irritated which causes the pain and symptoms.
